"One eye, I somehow know, weeps an old man's tears; the other sparkles like a child's. Got to get there. Really got to. Right to the core of dreams."

Attacked by Floaters!

posted Friday, 2 November 2007

One of my eyes has suddenly been attacked by gigantic swathes and swirls of cobwebby floaters.

The opticiam, following an examination, thinks it's a vitreous detachment (luckily, so far, not a retinal one).

The whole effect is rather disturbing, if not horrific.  Like spiders tusslling through the egg-whites of my eye.

It reminds me of a passage in one of my stories (Gentleman George - published in 'Roadwoks' magazine in 1999)

and posted HERE in 2005.

This situation remains maddening. In the forefront of my consciousness. I think I might have to live with the swirling cobwebs for the rest of my life...! :-(

Things have certainly improved on this score.

As an aside, I have suffered intermittently since 1973 with Iritis, in both eyes, but never in both eyes at once. Here is my fictional (?) take on Iritis: http://weirdmonger.blogspot.com/2006/04/dies-irae.html previously published in 'Mausoleum'.
