Capturing Mary

I thought tonight's Poliakoff film - Capturing Mary - was the best TV ever! And brilliantly acted by Maggie Smith, David Walliams and Ruth Wilson.
A landmark. Elizabeth-Bowenesque. Haunting. Perfect about class sentiments, the gruesome underbelly of the times I've lived through (fifties/sixties). Absolutely darkly gorgeous. Can't praise it highly enough.

Robert Aickman was the name that came to mind for me. I agree though I
think it promised rather more than it delivered.
