A kind commentator posted the following at the above forum:
"...I would LIKE this odd shiny thing to be that most mysterious of
electrical phenomena, ball lightning. It has different properties to the
usual kinds of lightning and can actually batten on to an object or person
and follow it about, so you really have to check all your cones in close up
as your publication may be being stalked by a supernatural light."
