Cone Zero - Short List

posted Friday, 4 April 2008

Well, as a chance near-anagram of ZENCORE (which was in turn a chance title for Nemonymous Seven), the book that will be CONE ZERO (Nemonymoous Eight) is taking shape. Below are the titles of the 47 stories on the short list. I hope to announce the final selection of stories to be published in the book by the end of April but the process may last into May.  Having said that, this is going to be a mighty difficult task.  As it is, the CONE ZERO stories already rejected so as to leave the short list below are mostly impressive gems of the CONE ZERO ethos or genre.  The ones below (on subsequent readings) are indeed all masterpieces of the CONE ZERO ethos or genre. I have enough for several books?  What to do!!

Had this suggested elsewhere:

Do two books - exactly the same cover but with different contents all titled Cone Zero and with no author names listed at all. When someone orders, you pick one at random as the copy they receive.

des, this is crazy! This is probably going to be the weirdest Nemo. One question: how come so many people thought of naming their stories after the title (which wasn't the case with the previous Nemo)? Does this have anything to do with fictipathy and magic fiction?

Hi, Yhaze! This is the first Nemo that had its title in advance of submissions being solicited. des
