"One eye, I somehow know, weeps an old man's tears; the other sparkles like a child's. Got to get there. Really got to. Right to the core of dreams."

THE STATUE TURNS

posted Thursday, 21 February 2008

I'm pleased to announce that Tim Nickels' story ENGLAND & NOWHERE from ZENCORE! (Nemonymous Seven) has been picked by Ellen Datlow to be reprinted in YEAR'S BEST FANTASY AND HORROR #21 (St Martin's Press).
I'm first thrilled for Tim, then I'm thrilled for Zencore! but Zencore! is hard to please. It turned on its stony plinth, looked quizzically at me and asked why this was good news. I replied it is an honour. The statue then stood prouder. Have a look at your copy of Zencore! The book's stony icon is looking more upstanding and proud than when you last looked at it. A miracle.

Well done, Tim!
